Well, the Winter Music Conference in Miami is over for another year, 'sigh', but we came back knowing we had our best Miami party yet! It was completely sold out and had people queuing up all night to catch a glimpse of the very special line-up we had on the night, and the (some would say) surprising guests that attended with some of our DJ's.
Lil Jon was on the mic for most of Chuckie's set, Ron Carrol then introduced and sang live with the MYNC guys for their new upcoming release which also includes Dan Castro, and we had one of the most enthusiastic crowds we've ever had - you were all great and a pleasure to party with!
Check out some of the PICTURES we've got (courtesy of worldredeye.com) and if you live in Miami make sure you check out Wall Lounge's upcoming parties.
Our Miami 2011 compilation is now available on ITUNES, if you want a physical CD, then go to our WEBSTORE and we'll have it shipped to you as quickly as humanly possible.
We also have a Miami Classics album out now which includes a selection of tunes which will keep the Miami spirit alive in you - Here's a MINIMIX giving you an idea to what's included. Buy on ITUNES now.
In the last newsletter we asked if you have any questions that you'd like to ask one of the Cr2 artists. Dimitry Korabelnikov wanted to ask MYNC how long it takes to produce a song from start to finish - from laying out the initial idea to actually releasing it... So, what does it take?
"The time it takes to produce a song depends on a lot of factors - an initial idea is where it always starts and the rest of the song is built around that. So, for instance, on 'London To Melbourne' all it started with was a chord sequence. Being the most complex part of the song, the main drop, or groove if you like, was built first - the rest of the song was built by deconstructing the main elements of this, and then fundementally by working backwards from there, the intro, buildup and bridge etc was created. A song can be listened to one week, then the following week it can already be signed ready to be released, but some songs take much longer - it all depends on how good the communication is between us, and the artists and their managers or publishers."
Got a question you're dying to ask an artist? Email jamie@cr2records.co.uk with your question, and we'll have it answered in the next edition of the newsletter!
MYNC's 'Something On Your Mind' was first released back in 2006 and received an absolute monstrous remix from Dave Taylor, AKA Switch, who delivered a mix sounding way ahead of it's time.
So, 5 years on and we thought we'd give the song a bit of an update. We've got huge remixes from R3hab, Lissat & Voltaxx, Denzal Park & Lunde Bros. Covering all areas of the music spectrum whether you're a Dirty Dutch music fan or you just so happen to be playing in front of 20,000 fans!
